Photo Album - 2010 and 2005

Photos of the Marinas and Things to Beware Of

During the lovely Spring days of April 19-22, the Loon Song, skippered by Lt Bob Miller, AP, and admiraled by P/C Jean Miller, JN, took P/C George Johnson, SN, and P/L/C Sandy Johnson, P, on a cruise to Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor, Sidney, and Victoria. The purpose of the cruise was to check out the route for the USPS National Cruise during 05-11 September 2010.  During the trip, Jean Miller, in her role as Chair of Shore Facilities, met with the marina managers of all four sites to work out final details on managing 2,300 linear feet of boats spread over the 60 vessels in the fleet. George Johnson, in his role as Chair of Dining Events, met with the caterers in the three dinner sites to make sure that they are ready to feed the 220 people on the cruise.  Sandy Johnson, in her role as Chair of Social Events, met with the planners of the photo scavenger hunt, the welcome wine and cheese event, and looked at the dock facilities for the expected impromptu dock parties. Bob Miller, in his role as general cruise gadfly and honcho, met with customs agents on both borders to work out a process to run the fleet through the rigors of customs and immigrations processing as quickly as possible.

Photos of the marinas and some things to avoid (ferries, deadheads, and crab pots) are shown in the cruise photo album. The album is stored on the USPS portion of the Sail Angle website. If the link above doesn't work, read the section "USPS Photo Gallery on Sail Angle" below on how to find the photo site and how to login.

USPS Photo Gallery on Sail Angle

The Cruise Photographer has setup a public album within the USPS Group. After logging into the Sail Angle site and getting to the USPS area, click on the Photos command on the left side of the screen to bring up the photo album section, then scroll down to find the album titled "2010 National Cruise Photos." Even easier, just click here to view the cruise photos.

Once the 2010 cruise is underway, we will publish daily a selection of photos so your friends at home can enjoy the sights. The committee  envisions that many of the cruisers will want to upload their own photos to this album. You can download instructions on how to do so by clicking here (you will need a PDF viewer).

The album is setup for public sharing so friends and family members of the cruisers will be able to log onto the photo site to view the progress of their friends as they cruise through the Pacific Northwest.

After you have logged into the site, you should be sent to the Photo Gallery automatically on subsequent accesses.

For detailed instructions on how to log into the Sail Angle site and to view and upload photos, click here.
