Getting Back to SeaTac Airport from Anacortes

(click here for a printer-friendly PDF image of this page)

Shuttle Bus - If you are taking the charter bus from the convention hotel in Bellevue, you are responsible for getting yourself back home. Since the only rental car agency in Anacortes doesn't normally rent one-way vehicles, your best bet is to use the Bellair Airporter Shuttle.    Airporter Shuttle/Bellair Charters

The shuttle company has a special offer to cruise participants for groups of four or more. You will receive a 10% discount on each person's fare as long as all the people on the reservation ride the same vehicle and one payment is made. The one-way cost is about $35.

Note: the main pickup site is at the Shell service station on Commercial Ave is several blocks from the Cap Sante and Anacortes Marinas. You may be able to get a pickup at the marinas by phoning the reservations number, 1-866-235-5247.

Getting To Anacortes

Driving - Driving the 90 miles from Bellevue to Anacortes can be a nice way to spend a morning seeing some lovely country. Also, it is quite easy, direction-wise. Just get onto Interstate 405 in Bellevue and head north about 16 miles until it merges with Interstate 5 in Lynnwood. Now continue on I-5 north through Everett, Marysville, and Mount Vernon. Watch the signage on the off-ramps, each is numbered by milepost numbers. After you cross over the Skagit River and enter Burlington, keep an eye open for Exit 230 (Anacortes). Leave I-5 and turn west onto State Route 20. Follow it to Anacortes, 17 miles away. The signs tend to say "Ferry" and point you to the ferry dock for the San Juans and Sidney, BC. Don't go all the way to the ferry terminal. As you enter Anacortes, SR20 turns abruptly right onto Commercial Street. Follow it down to 10th St and turn right into the Cap Sante Boat Haven marina. You have arrived.

NOTE: there are no drop-off agencies for the major car rental companies in Anacortes. The nearest Hertz and Avis agencies are at Bellingham airport, a 70 minute drive from Anacortes. There is an Enterprise agency in town, but often one-way rentals are not supported. If you don't have a car, taking the charter bus may be your easiest option.

Charter Bus - The Cruise Committee has organized charter buses to take people from the Governing Board hotel to downtown Anacortes. The buses will leave the Hyatt Regency at 0900 and should arrive in Anacortes by 1030.

There will be three stops in Anacortes:

  • ABC Yacht Charters (at Cap Sante)
  • Anacortes Yacht Charters (Anacortes Marina)
  • Cap Sante Boat Haven (downtown Anacortes)

The two charter companies will provide transportation to the proper marinas after their skipper's orientation meetings.

NOTE: there is no organized transportation back to Bellevue or the SeaTac airport after the cruise.
